Learning reflection

1. What did you learn in this course?

In this course, I learnt many things about  Discourse approach in reading such as kinds of text, discourse markers of many kinds of texts. How to read the text in easier ways.


2.What did you find easy?

For me, the lesson about recount, description, procedure, and definition are easy.



        Recount is easy because it is about what happened. It’s easy to write, read, and understanding.


       Description is useful lesson I can understand describing text easier.



       Procedure is very fun and useful It made me understand how to cook and I can tell each other to cook some menu too.       


3.What did you find difficult?

       For me, I think every lesson has their hard point but the hardest point is to understand the text. Although, the discourse marker can help me understanding them easier but I must study hard to be good in reading.

4. How did you solve the problem?

       I try to study hard. I read other English text from another ways such as book or internet. If there are any problem about this subject, I try to find some information form the internet or asking friends to help.

5. What are your attitude toward the course?


      In my opinion, This course is very useful because It made me familiar with reading an English texts. Infect, 
I fear when I read the text in English , but  I learned many ways to understand the texts easier from this course. In addition I can apply knowledge from this subject to help me in another subjects like Paragraph writing. I think this subject is important for me. It made me know to improve my reading and the teacher is my good model to be a good teacher.

     Today we took the longest time because this is the last of this class. 





     We started by checking homework.
My friend and I took very long time in this exercise because it’s hard and has many questions.


     After we checked homework already teacher told my class to present all the video. My friend and I was excited. 




I presented my video to the teacher . My video about How to make Spicy Mama salad. Then I watched friends‘s videos. Every menu is look delicious.  This class is very fun.

Today, I had to learned about Unit 10 Problem and Solution. 


At the beginning of class the teacher tough about  Problem and Solution Markers. It can help me to understand the work. My friend and I did the exercises in worksheet. 


This time the exercise so hard because the text is long and had a lot of new words. I read the text, find the topic the discourse markers, and draw the diagrams.

In the afternoon, I had this class continue from morning.


       First, teacher ordered us to find the meaning of words in dictionary. After that, teacher tough about exemplification and the course markers in exemplification text. Next, My friends and I did exercises in the worksheet.





Exercise I: I found the main idea, markers, and draw the diagram together.

Exercise II: I read the story of Great Falls and match the place with the activities.
Exercise III:  I read the text about hazards in the home that 
jeopardize a child.

Definition and Classification


Definition and Classification



Today we studied all day. In the morning, we started the new lesson about Definition and Classification. 



I did the first exercise. I found the definition of the words in work sheets. Then, teacher tough about the definition and classification’s markers.




 I think this lesson is a little bit hard because there are many word to remember. After that I did the next exercise in the class with friends. My friends and I confuses at the beginning but we worked together and it made us understand the lesson clearly.

"Comparison&Contrast III "


   Today, I had A Discourse Approach in Reading all day. 




    In the morning I learned about comparison and contrast continue from last week. Next,I did exercise about "Men and Women : Do they speak the same language? It was about the differences between the languages of men and women. 







    Then, I did exercise about understanding the text by choose the correct answer. Finally, she assigned us to do exercise reacting to the reading on weblogs.



    In the afternoon,I studied about unit 6 " Cause and Effect". First, teacher taught about cause and effect marker such as cause, result, to affect, to result to etc.After that, we did exercise about accidents on U.S. highways and Titanic.

Midterm Test and Comparison.





   Today, we had midterm test before we studied. 



   Next, we studied about comparison and contrast continue from last week.She answered to exercise. It's about the differences and similarities between Subway of New York and Paris.




After that, we did exercise about Hurricanes in USA.

   Today I studied this class  in the afternoon because teacher have a meeting in the morning.Before we studied we had a test before midterm test. 


    After that, she taught us about procedure continue from last week. Then,she introduced new unit by show us some apple and asked question to 

differences between apple and orange.


Finally,we watched video of my friends.

   Today I studied this class in the afternoon because teacher has meeting in the morning. First,teacher answered exercise about Budapest and Prague tourist attraction.



                                      




   After that, she started to teach about lesson5 . Before she taught about content in sheet, she opened a video about how to make omelette by Jamie Oliver and assigned us to write vocabulary from the video that we heard. 




   Then, I matched each sentence with the corrected picture and teacher taught us about procedure.
 Finally, she assigned us to make a procedure video about how to cook.

Week 6

        This week is enjoy,teacher gave our to work in group and ordered everygroup describe picture,is Komodo Dragon.Teacher gave our tell about type of Komodo Dragon and leave to present.When our did work,teacher described body parts an ant.Next,everyone  watched display videos of friends about Kylie’s secrets.Finally,teacher ordered homework.

In this week,teacher gave everyone work in group.Eaveryone in group discussed second part and each group had present  about opinion of group.Next,our did exercise about this story and leave to present.
Finally , teacher summaried the second part and gave our work in group to role play about the Kylie’s  secrets.

Teacher taught about Tom's secrets explain meaning of diagram and work in pair to compair myself and my friend with diagram.Then,teacher gave everyone read and discuss passage in first part.   The end of class worked in group for complete summary of first part of the story by adding short sentences and present tense.

Morning


I studied about unit 2 about recount.Teacher ordered me to did warm-up activities.She opened the video about Hockey.After I did to rearrange scrambled sentences and identify genre of text and discourse markers then, I read the story and find topic,main ideas and details on story.


Afternoon

In the afternoon,teacher ordered me to searched and recount story and report to the class.My group wrote recount about unbilieveble place in Bangsaphan district.

1st week of a discourse approch in reading course.

On January 5,2015.Today is the first day of samester. 

studies about A Discourse Approach in Reading Class. 



In this class have studied with Asst.Prof.Dr.Usa Noytim. 

Before I studies this class I though she is fierce but

misunderstand.She was very kind just we imitate 

regulationns.

   First,teacher gave course outline and explained it.

Then,she assigned us to do exercise.
